TOA Members' FAQ's
- What is my membership number?
Your membership number is shown on your welcome letter, above your address on the magazine mailing label, and in the on-line Roster in the Members Section.
- When is my renewal date?
The TOA has six renewal periods per year – your renewal date is based on the Driver issue you received when you joined. The renewal date is printed above your address on the Driver mailing label and on the on-line roster. Example: 04/10 means your membership expires April 30, 2010 and you need to renew before that date to receive the May/June issue.
- What are the logins for the Members Area?
The Username and Password codes change every two months and are listed in the bottom right hand corner of page one in every Driver. There is an overlap to allow for mail delivery times.
- How do I place a classified ad?
Members are entitled to ONE free 40 word ad running at a time. It will run until you cancel. The rates for photos and extra ads/words are shown on the classifieds home page. The submission form is at the bottom of the page. Photos can be sent to toa@toronado.org. If you do not use a computer, ads can be mailed to PO Box 373, Hubertus, WI 53033-0373.
Location and preferred method of contact should be submitted with each ad. Cars for sale must have a price. The TOA will confirm receipt of your ad and advise any charges if due. The ads will be printed in the next issue of the Driver and posted on the web. When the following Driver is mailed, the ads will be moved to the public section of the website. Please advise us if you do not want your ad to be posted in the public area.
- How do I contact the TOA?
There are several contact forms on the website. Emails can be sent to toa@toronado.org or membership@toronado.org. Individual TOA Staff emails are printed on the inside page of every Driver. Tech questions can be sent to tech@toronado.org.
- Where do I send my dues?
There is a link to PayPal on the website. Clicking on it will give you the choices of US Standard Mail ($30), US First Class Mail ($36), or International Dues ($39 USD), along with a choice of one or two years renewal.
You may also send payments via PayPal for dues or ads to toa@toronado.net. Please make sure you include a note indicating what you are paying for.
Payments can be mailed to TOA, PO Box 373, Hubertus, WI 53033-0373. Payments will be acknowledged only via email. Members without email will see their updated renewal date on the next mailing label.
- Can I get back issues of the Front Wheel Driver Magazine?
Back issues of the magazine can be purchased – quantities of some issues are very limited. Single copies are $5 and there is a sliding scale of lower prices based on the total quantity purchased. You can choose the issues you want by looking at the covers and table of contents posted on the website. Contact Jane at the Hubertus address or email membership@toronado.org and we will get back to you with pricing and availability.
- Are the TC (Toronado Chapter) and the TOA the same?
No, they are two separate clubs. The TC is a chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America, and membership to the OCA is required in order to belong. The TC was founded @1990. They can be reached at PO Box 1010, Torrance, CA 90505-010. Their newsletter is the Toronado Times.
The TOA was founded in 2005 by a group of Toronado Owners who felt there was a need for an open international club that did not require other club affiliations. The award winning TOA magazine is the FRONT WHEEL DRIVER and the TOA created and maintains the website www.toronado.org and www.toronado.net.
- How can I, as a member, help the TOA?
- Renew your membership promptly.
- Advise us of email and address changes as soon as they occur.
- Encourage other Toronado owners to join the club. Click here to download a copy of our membership brochure and keep a couple in your car to hand out at shows. Give us their addresses and we will send them an invitation to join. The larger we are, the more we can do!
- Do a technical article or a story on your car for the Driver. Writing and editing assistance is available. Just sit down and start with how you first fell in love with the Toronado, and the story will write itself!
- Send us a photo and caption on your car(s) for the Members Drive-In section.
Email your submissions to toa@toronado.org or mail to the Hubertus address.
- Let us know about parts sources or new reproduction parts you may discover.
- Attend the club annual meeting and other sanctioned events.
- Consider serving on the board of directors when elections are announced.
