1969 Toro for sale

Found a silver '69 in Casper, WY last week. Good restoration candidate, but there is rust through on the passenger side windshield pillar thanks to the vinyl roof. Beyond that, looks like typical dry surface rust. Black vinyl interior - all seems there. Engine has been rebuilt, as the story goes, bu...

Re: Just took the plunge!

Tim Thanks for the info. It does have a top, it's a light/medium blue. There's some left on the passenger side roof, but it's pretty faded. Is it just me or did GM not finish roofs on cars that were to have vinyl tops? It's pretty rough under there - I remember my old '74 Cutlass, similar underneath...

Re: Just took the plunge!

Here's the remaining two sides. BTW, my daily driver is a black '93 Buick Regal Gran Sport (as partially seen here). What a cool car that is! Too bad they won't be classics, but the leather buckets, console shift and tank-like 3.8 with 234,000 miles .... They don't make them even like that anymore!

Re: Just took the plunge!

Here's the cowl tag. I don't think there's anything special about this car, it's just a base Toro. A/C though, and the rest of the power toys. Here's a couple more pics - actually backed out of the garage under its own power for the first time since I've owned it, and pulled back in. Leaks everywher...

Re: Just took the plunge!

Will do. Getting out of work early today, so I'm going to go play with it some more.

Mirrors

Just wondering, will the driver's side rear view mirror flip and work for the passenger side? Didn't want to take everything apart and try if I didn't have to.

Thanks,

Re: Just took the plunge!

Tim - Thanks for the encouragement! Wow - That's a commitment! I'm not sure I'll ever restore her to that level - but what fun and frustration! Heck, it took me several days of bloody knuckles and swearing just to rerun the fuel lines through the rear frame (they had used transmission line bolted to...

Re: Just took the plunge!

Haven't been here in awhile, but a quick update - She's alive!!!! It's been close to 8 years since this car has run but it coughed to life last weekend. I'll be doing some tweaking, but I may actually get to drive it. This has been a real boost to my ego as well, I was starting to tire of the old gi...

66 hub caps on a 69?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but will the center hub caps from a '66-'67 drum brake car fit on the '69 drum brake rims? I hear something about the wheels are a bit different?

I don't like the big dog dishes but I do like the smaller ones.

Thanks!

Re: 69 Fuel line

X - That idea worked great. Still took a couple of hours to get both lines through, there must be a compression point within the frame, but it worked and I'm happy and relieved. Thanks!
