Greetings
I have a 68 Toro and there is a 76 Eldorado in the local boneyard. I would like to pull the tranny for a spare (looks good).
Are there any compatibility issues with the later tranny (except 2.73 final ratio)?
Many Thanks
Rob

RH Output shaft Bearing Question
Greetings
Does anyone know where to get a replacement RH Output shaft bearing for my 68? Even a manufacturers part number would help me.
Best Regards

Re: 1968 Quadrajet Dashpot?
Found the exact Dash-Pot at Pick and Pull on a 70 Buick Wildcat 455. Paid 2 bucks and installed it. Works perfectly.
Thanks to all for the help.

Re: 1968 Quadrajet Dashpot?
Yes, that is what I meant. The Dash Pot that looks similar to a metal Choke pull off but with no vac line etc. It is supposed to keep the throttle from slamming shut like you said. Are they available new or do I need to find a used one? The metal part is just fine but the part that contacts the thro...

1968 Quadrajet Dashpot?
Greetings
I have a factory 1968 Quadrajet set up and the metal dashpot mounted on the throttle cable linkage side of the carb is broken. Are they still available? I have not had much success in finding it on the net.
Are they necessary?

Oil Filler Tube Code Question
Greetings
I have a 396021F code 455 with 394548 heads out of a Toronado with a TH425 so I assume it is a 68 or 69. The filler tube code reads 8199007. Does the code identify the exact year?
Best Regards

Re: Weights of Toro 455 and Trans?
Unfortunately, the Mid-Engineering Kit has not been available since the 80s. There are a few built cars out there but they are hard to find. Super heavy in the back but you get to keep the back seat and the powertrain is totally hidden. The more common conversion is the Crown (Corv8) conversion that...

Re: Weights of Toro 455 and Trans?
Found an almost new Petronics Flamethrower HEI for an Olds last year at Pick and Pull for $15. I had it on the shelf and now I can use it. The year of the drivetrain has been passed for owner to owner for 25 years so I will check the numbers when I Trailer it home this weekend. I am looking forward ...

Re: Weights of Toro 455 and Trans?
It is a 65 Corsa Turbo that was converted in the 1980s with a kit from Mid-Enginering. Rust free and done properly (in Alberta Canada too). Been looking for a couple years and this one fell into my lap for $3900. Pretty heavy in the rear but ready for Insanity Speed. Found out the engine and trans w...

Weights of Toro 455 and Trans?
Greetings All First time. Please be gentle. Just bought a 65 Corvair with a nicely installed Toronado 455 and Trans in the back. Looks to be late 60s. What are the individual weights of the engine and trans? (appear stock) Needs some work but I finally own an Oldsmobile!! (kinda) Looking forward to ...
