1968-70 Final Drive
This is for the front wheel drive Oldsmobile Toronado of 1968 - 70. Olds Toronado drive train with 455 engine. This final drive is a 10-bolt pan unit. Note, this definitely will NOT work for 1966-67 Toronados which had the 8- bolt pan and were used with the 425 engine. $150, located near Richland, WA

Re: New here, looking to buy a 1966 to 1970 Toronado
Please be sure to have the car looked over, preferably by a local Toro owner if possible, unless you feel competent to determine areas that may be issues. I've restored one of these and it's a huge undertaking. You want a driver, so maybe not perfect, but you also don't want to be frustrated with pr...

Re: Transmission cooler add on
They did offer an optional tranny cooler for towing applications. As a matter of fact, the 69 W-34 that I saw had this option. But really not necessary otherwise. I agree with the comments above regarding radiator cooling.

Re: 1966 Parts List
You deserve a lot of thanks for compiling this list. Wonderful detail. I'll have to compare to what I've found for my car which is a 67 and of course has some different parts.

Re: Headlight actuators 1966
There was a member of the TOA rebuilding these, but I think he may have stopped a couple of years ago as parts were becoming difficult to get. There is another potential source that you could contact -- they do hard to repair parts. I'll try to find the name and give it to you -- located in CA. He r...

Re: ?.. 66 olds chassis service manual/Fisher Body Manual
If you had the hardcopy manual, you would see that they had a completely separate section, towards the end of the manual, that is for Toronado only. Things like engine and other mechancials, carbs, etc. that are essentailly the same as the other Oldsmobiles are in the front section. But you'll find ...

Re: Replacing heater core
Otto, I'm not sure why the hood would have to come off in either case, but I need to think about it (mine was obviously torn down all the way, so no issue). Possibly the reason is that you have to remove the hood hinge to get at the squirrel cage/blower motor and take it out. One other reason I forg...
