Dangerous brakes on 1966 Toronado and other cars

This YT video is a good reason to think about the single jar master brake on cars before 1967:

Re: front bumper installation

You had to install the direction markers before bumper mounted to body. Nearly no chance to fit em properly after that. RH top gap between bumper and fender seems not in line.

Re: German call for help (member # 1571)

Hi Michael,

Sorry, this is a TORONADO forum - if you ask for Cadillac problems, you should try at a Cadillac forum. There are many around.
But if you begin the restoration with the nice looking 66 Toro, you are welcome to ask whatever you want...

Re: 66' Toro CV axle

Can only say that Rockauto sells for all Toronado years the same CV axles with identical order number. Yes, its more than possible, that Oldsmobile changed the CV axle design with time. Done it more easier to maintain maybe. But you can order an CV axle from RA and send it back if it does n´t fit. N...

Re: 66' Toro CV axle

I wonder what are the different should be. I had also a 66, no different to 67 (and I believe no dif till 1977 - GMC RV´s use em too). RH cv axle has original a vibration damper. Those aftermarket ones didn´t have it. I have never found a distinction while driving.

The cv axles from Rockauto are ok and cheap. But china-man often not proper redone em at the rubber boots. I had some problems with the boot strips and must change. Very less space for free running when the cv axle sit in the hub. If the rubber boots fit correctly they are good for many thousand tro...

Re: interior trim pics please

They are painted in same color as the other headliner moldings. Chromed moldings are for exterior.

Re: interior trim pics please

See no door moldings in your pic. All interior side roof moldings, rear window moldings and A-pillar. You need em for new headliner. From left to right: 1 and 2 put together = Rear window top, 3 and 4 rear window left and right side, 5 and 6 put together = window lower, 7 = LH roof side line, 8 = RH...

Re: Promised engine out, engine in, pictures

Do you or your mechanic changed the old timing chain into a new and cleaned the oil pump? If the timing chain set was never changed before it is more than possible that it is worn out and lengthened. :?:
