Spare Tire Won't Fit

FWIW, I got a deal on a 255-70-15 tire to use as a spare. Found out yesterday that the larger tire will not slide down into spare tire carrier.
Bummer.

Re: 1966 Toronado 425 V8 engine overhaul need help

Olivier, Did you install Mondello's oil restrictors in the block when you rebuilt it? These will reduce the oil pressure at the sending unit. After installing these on my 442, the oil light comes on when my engine is hot and at idle. Secondly, was the plug reinstalled on the oil gallery at the rear ...

Fuel Tank Replacement

Stilling having fuel delivery problems on my '66 after rebuilding carb, installing new in-line fuel filter, hoses and hard lines (all the way back to the tank, and fuel pump. Car ran out of fresh, no-ethanol, high octane fuel on my last test drive with 15 gallons in the tank. I pulled the tank yeste...

Re: 1967 Parts Car

Roland,
The radio is AM/FM, not Wonderbar. I'll have to pull it in order to check it it works. I would prefer to communicate about parts outside of this forum. Please call or email me with your questions or interest.

Re: 1967 Parts Car

I have spare drivetrain parts to sell, but I am keeping the engine from this car. What drive train parts do you need?

Re: l Bearings

Understanding that your front wheel bearings are different than the ones I have on my 1966, I found that the replacement CV shaft that I ordered from Cardone thru NAPA were not the same dimensions as my original and I sent it back. Here is what I found on my 1966. The step in this CV shaft which rid...

Re: Coolant Overflow Tank

Otto,
Thanks for your reply. I viewed Garland's forum post, but missed the aftermarket coolant tank in his photos. After receiving your personal email, I called Garland and he gave me the Dorman part # 54002 and a suggestion on how to mount it in the car.

Re: Coolant Overflow Tank

Otto, To answer your question: I replaced the heater core. The old one was full of sediment so I wanted to flush the engine out of the heater hoses before connecting them to the new heater core. I had the cap off so that I could add water to the radiator while the water discharged out of the open he...

Coolant Overflow Tank

With the radiator cap off and the engine hot, the coolant surges out of the radiator when I shut the engine off. I lose about a gallon of coolant when this happens. Is this a result of the radiator cap being left off or do I have other issues? Neither of my 2 -'66 Toronados have coolant overflow tan...
