Brake Masters and Booster Differences?

Looking at parts gathering for disc conversion. My car is a 67, spindles are from a 69. Looking at master cylinder/booster combinations on RockAuto and there are different units listed for 67-70 and 71-78. The 71-78 are cheaper. I don't mind flaring new hard lines. Is there a meaningful difference b...

Re: New member intro- first post.

Thank you. Progress already: I vacuumed out about 2 gallons of rodent and rabbit droppings fron the intake manifold valleys and spliced a dozen or so wires back together and, using just a jumper wire and a gas can on the fender, got it to run for the first time! And I know reverse works, too. I back...

Re: WTB: The Infamous Engine, 5.7L Diesel

Unfortunately I didn't join and see this earlier-- I just sold my runner w/ TH400 trans for $600 (new victor reinz head gaskets, ARP stud kit, new fuel and water pumps, rebuilt IP... I have 1 complete engine removed from a running car (that was being converted to a smog-exempt hotrod with diesel tit...

Re: Eldorado Spindle compatibility?

Thank you, Bill
I was able to speak with the seller today and he said that both the 68 and the 1970 eldorado had 4-piston calipers and the earlier style 1-piece disc.

Oh well.

Again, thanks for the explanation.

Re: Eldorado Spindle compatibility?

That said ... yes the Eldo parts will work but you will open yourself up to can of worms . Read Drum Lessons thoroughly as it explains the ins and outs, no better description can be found as to what and how to do a Toro disc brake conversion, there are times when the best way to do something is sta...

Eldorado Spindle compatibility?

Much like the bajillion threads out there on the interwebz, I'm looking to convert my 67 Toronado to disc brakes. Cost and availability are the recurring themes as are pointers to the "Drum Lessons" website. As helpful as the site is, it proves the adage, The more you learn the less you kn...

New member intro- first post.

Hello all. Just wanted to make my first post before delving right in with questions. I acquired a 67 Toronado "ran when parked" likely 10 or more years ago and obviously before a rabbit and rats took up nesting in the engine bay and ate everything remotely chewable under the hood. Will hav...
