Re: Trunk lid

Its always about the details, even with the most subtle of differences if one knows exactly what your looking for or at they're easy to spot ...... this case is a bit straight forward as the vinyl top trim is present on the front /top lip of the trunk lid where it meets the rear vent grill. For what...

Re: 1968 W34 Toronado

With in the last year or so and with reasonable confidence I believe that the built date displayed on the body plate reflects that of the order date (as in when the initial order was entered into the system) and based on information from the built sheet {AKA broadcast sheet} (a very rare commodity) ...

Re: 1968 W34 Toronado

The copy and paste example in Blue vin 38M250256 was a 68 low compression 2bbl 455 supposedly with trailer tow. As for forged cranks being held out for W34 can't answer that ... though not likely. The toro vins were 38M600001 -02-03-04 the 6 seams to the indicate the 60's as in 71 the vin changed to...

Re: 1968 W34 Toronado

So do I interpret this to say that a forged crank in any particular car was more or less random? In other words, forged cranks were not made for any specific car or group of cars. Any car that happens to have a forged crank is purely a luck of the draw, so to speak, depending on when that particula...

Re: 1968 W34 Toronado

Whoa .......... what we're looking at is almost an impossibility, especially when one considers the following. The casting date insert is a fixed to the 'positive' mold, it (the mold) is then encased in sand mold thus creating a 'negative' the two half's of the mold are separated and the pieces of t...

Re: 1968 W34 Toronado

Okay ..... xg413...... should this turn out to be a forged crank it will blow a hole in what was previously believed and purported but more on that later .. now I would like to what the F code is i can kind of see it but not sure what it is. I can though clearly see the 68 above the F Code so what i...

Re: Fuel Filter? Where the Heck is it?

yo Otto FYI I changed the rear hose (tank to steel line) on the frame rail in 2003 if memory serves I used fuel injection line as it is purported to stand up better against deterioration brought on by the ethanol additive in today's fuel.
