Detroitspeed.com has an electric kit for replacing the vacuum headlights for 60's gm vehicles(camaro). Will this set up fit my 66 Toronado. They were many cars in the 60's that had vacuum assistant headlights, for example the 68 impala/caprice,Eldorados, Rivieras, and other GM vehicles. Also the corvette had this vacuum type set up. Has anyone done this conversion. My canisters/vacumm leak are preventing my lights to go up. I live in Long beach, CA and have not found anyone here who can fix these lights for me. I NEED HELP. THANKS

That is an interesting idea... I also wonder if they would work or not. Anybody ever look into this as a possible solution??

There used to be somebody who repaired vacuum canisters for the 66 Toro, but maybe not the other years. I'll dig around to see if I can find the information. Anybody help on this in the meantime?

on all four cannisters i have restored the lower vacum studd or connection if you like was clogged by rust this vacum hose pulls down the piston inside thus raising the lights opening this will help.Restoring them is not to difficult.

I found an old scanned business card for the guy who rebuilds canisters... Ken Hitchcock. See the attached picture.

If anybody has updated information or if this is found to be out of date and no longer valid, let us know.

The Ken Hitchkock information is valid. He is a TOA member and we had our canisters rebuilt by him 10 years ago and they still work fine.
