I recently relocated to Abu Dhabi and brought my car with me. Back home I had a family mechanic I knew for years, but here I'm starting from zero. I need to get some routine maintenance done but I'm worried about choosing the wrong place. I've been reading about selecting reliable car technicians and it seems like there are a few key things to look for. Some guides mention checking if the workshop uses modern diagnostic tools, if the technicians have multi brand experience, and if they offer clear explanations and pricing. Dealerships have brand trained staff but are expensive, while independents often have more local knowledge but vary in quality. For those who have been here a while, how did you find your go to mechanic? Any red flags I should watch out for when visiting a workshop for the first time?
