66 Toro - is the VIN stamped anywhere at the chassis ?

Hi,

Lost the VIN plate and the data plate with my 66 toro project. On all europe cars since 1945 the origin VIN ist stamped on the right front chassis frame behind the right wheel. How are toronado´s and other classic american cars certified? Only with these (easy changeable) plates? My car was complete sandblasted but no number to see.

For a german registration I have the us title and german duty forms, but the car must be identifiable. New plates are horrible expensive...

Yes, stamped in two areas on frame. Passenger side front and back.

They are on top of the rail, so you would have to separate the body from the frame to see the rear one for sure. Can't remember the front one, but pretty difficult to see if the car is typically worn and dirty. Numbers are not real large, but are stamped clearly into frame.

Hi, my 69 has the Vin stamped on the outside of the chassis directly under the middle of the passenger door but you have to lay flat on the ground to see it or get the car up on a lift.
