Anti-Theft Measures
Re: Anti-Theft Measures
According to study and police-report in Germany the most important are first 10 min. , so we have as the best solution a simple cuttoff-switch hidden in der car. The thieves do not have so much time and motivation to remove it or to make a Bypass

If they're going to drive it away, the ignition switch would be worthwhile.
If they're going to winch it on a flat-bed, the ignition switch is pointless.
Either way, if theft is a genuine concern, you need to be able to track the car after it's been taken.
Track it if you can afford it. The Jacobs system resets every time you turn the
engine off, you cannot forget to set it. If someone jumps the switch and gets
it going, they will get just far enough to be entering traffic, and it will stop, will
not restart. How would you like to be sitting blocking traffic in a stolen car, the
police will soon be there. All the theft I read about would have been defeated,
I cannot understand someone leaving a valuable car unprotected. I used to
unhook the electrical before Jacobs.
Not many cars are stolen by towing, too conspicuous and too much overhead.
Anything goes wrong, you are out a clearly marked and traceable tow truck.

I wish I could buy a tracking system like LoJack, but it’s hard to invest in something that large when you’re a college student haha. For now, I have kill switch that is waiting to be installed. I haven’t gotten around working on it, but I need to do that soon because it seems like it’s going to snow on Monday and I won’t be able to do much with the Toro for a while.
