Creaky Whiny Wire Wheels

Postby DrK » Mon Aug 10, 2009 10:45 pm

OK, let's vent!
Doesn't it take away a bit of the glory when you're cruising in your gorgeous cream 'n' camel coloured 1981 Toronado Brougham with the sunroof open on a summer day and all you can hear is the creak-creak of the rear driver's side wire rim? :(
I've tried rubber bands to the lug nuts (that hold the hubcap fastener), tightening the bolts in the back of the hub cap, and checking the individual spokes.
But this puppy still creaks like a Red River cart.
I'm going to keep trying stuff, but I'd love to hear if anybody else has licked a creaky wheel with minimum fuss.
What's your story?
