Has anyone here hear of or used Empire Motors in El Pasp Tx.???? I recently got wind that they can reproduce the rear chrome pot metal taillight panel for the 1966-7 Toronado. He claims to have made the tool/dies for it and will make one upon request (TERMS: Upon receipt of cash, bank check, company check, wired funds etc.). Its quite expensive ($1500+ s&h) and I am sceptical about sending large sums of money to a stranger who dosn't even accept credit cards! They claim to reproduce LOTS of parts of many cars etc.. Anyone here ever use them or hear anything good OR bad? THANKS in advance!

Huh.... sounds intriguing... I know I need a better panel, but $1500 seems a bit steep.... Well, please let us know if you find out anything.

See my response in the Technical Talk thread. A quick google search turns up quite a bit of evidence this is a major scam and quite a few folks appear to have lost some serious cash. I would stay away from them.

I researched him after and found all the strikes against him. Knew it was too good to be true!

Oh well. Guess I'll have to pay the $1000 to redo mine by a competent replater in show chrome. Least I will get something for my $1000 instead of NOTHING for $1650!!!

Please do not do business with them. We have had members that have lost their money.

I had bought some armrest side pieces from him (Valor) many years ago and they seem to be decent and durable but they were very expensive and took many months to get them. He was surprised when I told him that those pieces were also applicable to the Riviera and Eldorado. I wonder if he marketed to them also and what those folks think.

Be that as it may, given the evidence derived from the internet I would strongly suggest that people stay away.
