I'm in the process of purchasing my 66 Toronado. I had a 58 Desoto Firesweep Convertible that I found about 8 miles from my home. There only 12 of these known to exist. It was parked for 25 years by the previous owner. Then it sat in my garage for the next 20 years. I finally had to admit that I would never do the work that It needed. So I thought about what car I would like to have next. I remember going to the shopping center in 1966 ,when I was 10 years old. They were having a new car show. I saw a new 66 Toronado and fell in love with it. So I decided that's what I wanted. I wanted a 66 only and one that I wouldn't have to do anything to drive it. I thought that it would take some time to find one. After about 1 month I found just what I wanted. Though it wasn't cheap. I planned on selling some stock that I had. Only to find that my late wife's name is still on the account. I had to fill out some paperwork and get them stamped and sent in to get the account renamed. Then they told me that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to do that. WTF. So I decided to put my Desoto on Bring a trailer site. After applying and uploading 10 photos they told me that they didn't want to list my car on their website. WTF #2. So I put it on Craigslist and it sold in 1 hour. The certified check is due to arrive on Monday. I'm following the tracking number and will believe it when it's here.
