Drum to Disk conversion; Spindles

Hi All,
I am converting my '66 to front disk brakes while it is apart. I found spindles from a 1970 Toro.
Will I need to change the Upper A arms as well?
There seems to be an issue with the ball joint taper, but I do not have the spindles in hand yet.
I do have the option of buying the A arms from the '70.
Any experience or advice greatly appreciated.

I don't think so... I am putting '69 disc on the front of mine. Durring my research, the '66 and '69 ypper control arms are the same model number... That does not necessarily mean they are identical, but it was good enough that I did not buy control arms at the same time. I have not started the conversion yet, so i'm not certain. I know putting 71+ discs need the uca as well. But I think the first gens are all the same.

Do the '69's have discs that are separate from the hubs? I was warned off of the one piece units as I was told the discs are not available new anymore..

Yes, that was 67 and 68, I bought all my parts new except the knuckles. Everything cost me about $600, minus the $1200 for my chrome disc brake wheels. Got them from RockAuto.

Whoops, sorry, forgot to touch back on this... I finished my disc brake conversion a month or so ago... I used my factory '66 control arm, and there is zero interference from it. Again, I used '69 parts, but I believe '69 and '70 have the same setup. The ball-joints I got were from Kanter, and they had a complete front-end rebuild kit for '66-70, which is what I used. All the balljoints fit nicely, and I had no trouble getting an alignment, so everything seems to be just peachy!
