eBay 1967 Wonderbar??

Postby ydennekkram » Thu Feb 20, 2014 10:10 pm

http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-68-69-70-Old ... ff&vxp=mtr

Just wondering if anyone can help with telling me if this radio is from a 1967 Toronado or not? There is a part number list as 93BFW1 but I can't find any information that links that number to a Delco model number which for the 67 Toronado WB would be 7299583 I believe. Don't want to buy something and have it not be correct, the listing description sucks really as I'm sure this radio wouldn't fit into all of the models listed in the description.

From a website I found, here's what the number means:

9 = 1969
3 = Olds
B = Full Size model
FW = AM/FM Weather
1 = 1st Revision

I would think that a stereo out of a Toro would be an E (Personal Luxury Model) rather than a B (Full Size Model). It could be this came out of a Ninety Eight or similar model. Seems to be a 1969 Olds, not 67, but that may not be an issue.

Here's the website. it lists several numbers for the 66-68 Toros, and gives how to decode the number you have for 68-onward GM cars with Delco radios.

You got me interested in figuring out mine, but I could see any number on it. The instrument panel is out, but the radio is mounted to the panel. Where are the numbers located? Mine seems to be correct for what my car had -- 8 track tape player with rear seat speaker.

Agreed the numbers say it all: though before i saw the code brake down, the face/color knobs and button were different between the E -A - BC bodies this was clearly 69-70 big car.

Thanks guys, I'll pass on this buy and thanks for the link to the site to decipher the radio codes, that will be super handy.
