Here's a link to the Facebook website for the Body Shop that is working with me on my Toro restoration. Today we were please to complete all underbody painting. It was a horrible process getting all the globbed on undercoating off.

It took a lot of effort to get the old thick undercoating off the body and frame. Once that messy job was done we were able to seat everything with epoxy primer then paint with single stage epoxy black. The wheel wells were painted body color, and we did them as they would have been done at the Fisher Body plant in Euclid, OH. You can see additional info and monitor progress by going to

What are your plans for the car when it's finished? Are you going to drive it? Trailer queen it? Sell it?
Is this the car in your avatar?

Eightballz: Yes, I should put together an article for the TOA. You know projects can go in fits and starts but we are really working to get this one well on it's way to completion.
Otto: Probably light driving/touring, but this will be a high #2 car. I am not into trailer queens! I want to keep it for a while anyway. I bought it from the original owner and many people back in my home town still would recognize this car. And yes, it's the car in my avatar. That was taken in 2001. I think I bought it about a month or so after 9/11. It looked ok in that picture, but closer inspection would have revealed there were rust problems with the roof (all repaired), and the car had that general Toro rattiness to it (including some of the real rats). We can restore these cars and hope to start on a 69 Toro soon. If others are interested, please contact me!
