Old plugs were champion j12yc
new ones are champion Rj12yc (they came with the car n the trunk, I only buy Delco plugs)
gap on old plugs seems to be .035, and I gapped new ones the same.
The old wires were junk, and the plugs were worn. Pics to follow of old plugs, which were dry and crusty with gray ash. no signs of oil fouling.

OK, so heres an update.
The old plug wires were toast. The plugs were so so. I also replaced about six feet of old crunchy vac line here and there.
It starts and runs smoother, as in OMG smooth.
Its such a wonderful car to drive. everything I refresh and upgrade makes it that much nicer. I think the fuel gauge is working again.
I'm so happy to have this car and drive it. Those of you who don't own one are missing out. If you are lucky enough to own one and don't drive it then Shame on You!
My pickup is nice, my mustang is fun, but the 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado is in my opinion the finest automobile ever to grace God's highways.
God Bless and Happy Oldsmobiling.

They all looked about the same. One looked a little worse than the rest.

Cool. Did you have the steel wheels chromed? Do you still use the small hubcap and beauty ring?
Are your new tires white walls or black? (or white letter, I suppose)

Are you required to run a front plate where you live?
I'm in Georgia and thankfully we only have rear plates. It makes the front ends of old cars that don't have a dedicated place for a plate look so much nicer. I took the mounting bracket off my Toronado.
Where on earth would one go on my Cadillac without ruining the lines? Same goes for the Toronado. That bracket is now in the trunk.

Thanks. The Cadillac has been my only car since 2001 until I bought the Toronado in February.
And they'll never be sullied by front license plates even if Georgia decides to require them.
