Where is vacuum modulator on a 1981 Toro tranny?

Postby DrK » Fri Mar 19, 2010 7:18 pm

i've been combing the Service Manual and had my '81 307V8 Toro up on the hoist to change the vacuum modulator, which I just bought, but CAN'T FIND IT! I'm feeling really dumb; can anyone out there tell me how to change it on a 325 tranny on an '81 Toro? There's a picture of the part in the service manual, but not a picture of where it plugs into the tranny.
Thanks if you can help,

I'm a genius ... NOT!

Now I see that my 1981 doesn't have a tranny vacuum modulator for a very simple reason -- it was built in the part of the model year when they switched over to a TV (Throttle Valve) Cable ... otherwise known as a detent or kick-down tranny cable that runs from the carb to the tranny.

I can get a new one for 30 bucks; life is good. And maybe my tranny will start shifting properly.

Fingers crossed,
