Does anyone have a photo of an original throttle linkage for a' 66?
I searched the forum and didn't see this topic covered.
I'm looking for an image of the linkages and brackets between the original Q-Jet, the cable and the transmission kick-down switch mounted on the back of the left cylinder head.
I just bought this survivor car this week and am getting it recommissioned after a long storage (so far, so good). The carb is freshly rebuilt by the previous owner, but the throttle linkage interferes with the original air filter housing in all positions off idle. Something must be installed out of whack, but I cant tell what. I don't have service manuals yet.
Thanks and Happy New Year!!

There is a thread somewhere here with pictures of that. I think it might be titled kickdown switch or something. I'll see if I can find it.

Here it is. Be sure to read the thread because there are pictures of a correct setup and pictures of an incorrect setup. My car had been monkeyed with.

Thanks for the link and info. Mine was like the others where the kickdown linkage was in the upper hole, when it should be in the lower. Once I corrected that and readjusted the rod, the air cleaner fit perfectly.
Thanks!

I'm glad it helped. That's an easy fix. I'm still trying to find the correct kickdown switch.

Otto,
Is this the switch you're looking for?
NOS, but very pricey.....

Yes, I've seen that one. No way I'm paying that kind of money.

Jeez - that's almost half what I paid for the whole car!

Aside from the price, that switch hardly does anything for the car. My suggestion is a 68-78 style
kickdown switch and an electronic switch pitch control, which will really improve performance.
All for a tiny fraction of that price. I gave away most of the mechanical switches I had, they
are junk. Bruce Roe

Otto, saw this one on eBay. Less $ but still pricey.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1966-67-Old ... 6N&vxp=mtrBruce, can you please explain how the switch-pitch convertor works? Is it activated by the kickdown switch? Is it electrically or hydraulically activated, or a hybrid? What effect does the variable-vane convertor have?
I'm new to Toronados and haven't yet secured service manuals.
Thanks!
