Just wanted to share my axle experience with the Toro Community. I was told that my outer passenger boot was ripped.
That set me on the path to a) find a garage that would remove the axles (I decided to have both axles done). Once I found a garage that would remove the axles -- and allow the car to occupy a lift for the couple days it would take, b) find an axle rebuild shop.
So I found an axle shop -- the replaced both outer boots -- they couldn't find replacement inner boots (apparently they are impossible to find -- - is that true? He did recondition the inner boots with some sort of rubber conditioner. Thre price for both $180.
The garage then reinstalled the axles -- the cost $286 -- they said they didn't need to do a re-alignment. I will add photos of the axles before they were re-installed.
