Extra Electric Wire

I have a black 14 gauge electric wire that originates at the circuit breaker and the positive battery cable junction block located on the passenger fender of my '66 Toro that goes no where. A second wire off of this breaker goes through the firewall presumally to the fuse block. Is this wire superfluous or where should it terminate?

That looks like something someone added as it doesn't look original. I have the same setup but it's only one wire coming off the circuit breaker.

I'll look through my photos and see if my car had that. Doesn't look familiar, though.

No, there isn't a wire like that in any of my engine photos.
