Gen IV Air Conditioning

Hi all, I need some input. I have a Gen IV .. 1992 Trofeo. It has a new A/C compressor (well ... 2 years old) and is full on refrigerant. When the temp outside drops to between around 55-65 F, the system says the A/C refrigerant is low. Occasionally it will flash refrigerant very low message. I had the system checked and it is topped. I tried changing out the low side sensor ... no joy. Any other ideas?
I had the same issue on a different Trofeo (still own it) and the mechanic I took it to 10 years ago solved the issue. Sadly, he retired and moved away about 5 years ago. Any guidance or thoughts would be appreciated.
