I have a '66 Toro, the gas has started acting erratic. There's aprox. 1/4- 1/2 tank of gas but the needle has started to flucuate all over the place, it evens goes past Full & disappears up into the top of the gauge, but then comes back down & repeats the whole process! Any idea what the problem is, thank you!

Check your ground connections first. Fluctuating gas gauge is usually caused by an iintermittent ground in the system.

Run a test wire bypassing the existing wiring and see if anything changes.

You may also have a float sticking or sending unit arm hanging up.
