Lights in the '66 doors: How do you change them?

I have my door skin off while I'm working on the power windows. And I figured I would throw some new bulbs in the marker lights at the end of the doors while I had it appart anyway... only I can't figure out how to change the bulbs!

There's no access from the back side, and I'm hesitant to take a screwdriver and start prying at the lenses to see if they come off... What is the right way?

Also, if you happen to know the model # of the bulbs off hand, that would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Be very careful....

I recall that the lenses can be pried off. I will go check on the broken lens in my 68...

(time passes...)

No question about it. I found that it pried off quite easily even when at about 50 degrees. There are four tabs about 1.5 " in from each end, two per side. Warming it slightly might help but I had no trouble.

use a very very thin screwdriver or better yet a dental tool to pry... if the lens is brittle, it will snap...but, nothing much else to do. You'll then have to replace the lens.

They're same bulb as in rear quarter panel... 2112? I can't remember the number off the top of my head. THe bulb with connector on each end... glass tube in middle.
