Question for tall people: What did you do about the seats?

Well, I'm 6'6" tall.. and when I sit in my '66 Toro, my head hits the ceiling. Which, while hilarious, is rather uncomfortable. I've got the power bench seat, and I've got it set as low as it can go, and I still have to slouch to fit in the car. It's not aweful, but it would be nice if I could remedy this issue. I'd consider chopping down the seat brackets, but with the power bench, it's really not that much of an option....
Anyone else have this problem? Or an idea to fix it? Thanks.

Did you try removing a veterbrae or two?
I was just again noticing how low these cars actually are when I drove home the 68 I recently purchased. Tall guys like you certainly will have a problem. The only thing I can think of is to do something along the lines of what I am going to do but for different reasons; I intend to buy a set of modern GM leather seats with the integrated seat belt. You may have to do something similar only you will want a very low seat.
Bummer, dude, it must be a real annoyance. Hope you find a good solution!

Heh, I knew someone would bring up severing of vital organs

It's not /too/ bad, if I just scoot my butt forward an inch or two I can comfortably slump and get the head clearance. I'm going to look into adding a reclining mechanism on the back so I can tilt that instead. Any idea if that can be added without having to strip the skins off?
The only way I'd change the seats out, is if I won the proverbial lottery and found a pair of factory bucket seats w/ console.

I had just such a set back in the mid 80s... at the time I had no idea how rare they were given that they came in a 68 W-34...

All Strato Seats of that vintage have 2 mounting provisions on the seat anchors. The car was delivered from the factory in the back position. To gain one additional inch, you simply need to unbolt the 8 mount bolts.... replace the seat on the front holes and you add 1 inch to front seating. I'm 6'5"... it's the first thing I did to my '66 Riviera, '71 Riviera, '66 Toronado and '67 Eldorado. All these seats have the ability.
Switching to buckets is definitely going to be poorer... there's no 6 way adjustment... so its much less comfortable.
