Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what the book time is to replace a heater core in a 1966 non A/C car? (yeah, I got a leaker!)
Thanks,
Greg

I don't know what book time is on it... but, it's not as easy as it should be... There's only a handfull of bolts that keep it in place, but getting to them is a pain in the arse. I have all kinds of specialty ratchets, and I still had a hard time getting the bottom middle one. Plus you have to get the thing out without disturbing too many vacuum lines. Might be easier in a non-ac/non Comfortron car.

6 bolts hold the heater housing in place. Lift out the housing, and the core is only held in by 4 more bolts, which are covered by a foam gasket. You have to peal the gasket back a bit to access them.

I imagine, it could be done in an hour, if you've got the stuff to reach the tough bolts, and don't have all the vacuum lines I have to deal with. I just left that one middle bolt out when I re-assembled it to make it easier in the future :P
