Does it crank when you turn the key?

If not, my guess would be the alternator.... Try charging the battery and see if it will crank, that will be the tell. Generally, the alternator goes, and the car starts running off the battery untill the battery runs out of power.

well we need more informations..

first..check if theres enough fuel in the tank

you said the engine will turn over..does it mean it cranks?...if yes..then check for spark..pull out one spark plug, ground it and crank...if theres a strong spark you need to check the dwell angle and timing (maybe the timing chain jumped over).

if theres no spark you need to check ignition coil, plugs and plug wires, points, distributor cap, condenser...

that should do it for now...keep us posted
