Help needed: Fuel gauge pegged at FULL

Hello all,
The Fuel Gauge in my '66 Toro is pegged at full.
I removed the liner from the trunk and, behold, rusty crap all over the top of the tank where the sending unit is. The wiring post looks just as bad.
I need a new trunk pan but I'm leaning towards finding a new tank and sending unit to be on the safe side.
Any avenues to get the Tank and Sending Unit mainly...? Trunk pan would be nice also...
Thanks in advance,
Adam

I don't believe you can buy a new tank anywhere... IIRC... the same goes for the sending unit.
I've seen sites/people who offer to rebuild your original one, but mine works perfectly, so I never kept any tabs on such things...
My tank had a small hole in it, I got POR-15 fuel tank sealer and used that, then, for extra measure, I coated the entire outside of the tank with POR-15 as well... It was something of a process, but it seems to have worked beautifully, and my tank will now be around, long after the rest of my car is red dust

The only tip I have on this if you do it... make sure you remove your tank sock before putting in the sealant... Not doing so was something of a PITA for me XD

Thanks for the feedback!
I'll page through fusick.com.....
I'll try the POR-15 as a precaution.
Thanks again,
Adam

FYI
Spoke with usa parts supply.....
He said if its a canister style sending unit, which he believes it is, I have to ship it to them so it can be "converted" for approx $300...
Does this sound right to anyone??

Been there, done that, killed the car (threw a rod!) two weeks after putting the rebuilt fuel sender in...
So I recommend using these folks for a rebuild. They did mine very nicely for $149.
