The rear ones on my car were glued to backside of the bumper itself.
I assumed the front ones mounted the same way. I never had them off though as they were in place when I bought the car.

Re: Hagerty Insurance
At the rear it is ok. But at the front they are parts of the fenders (see drawing) not bumper.

Roland; NOW this makes sense. I don't have the drawing for the front, and my year drawing was smeared during copying. Would it be possible to get these two pages in high resolution? I would be forever indebted!!

Otto,
Sorry to hear about your car! Hope you continue to be active on this forum. We had identical cars, although mine stills needs paint, bumpers, and headliner. Makes you think about adding additional circuit breakers, fuses, or fusible links. Any idea what might have started the fire?
I'm contemplating bidding on it as I could use the bumpers.

Re: Hagerty Insurance
The idiots that towed it to CoPart ruined the front bumper and hood release cable attachment. I was furious when I saw it.
Of course it can be redone and re-chromed but it was straight as an arrow before they got it. The grill is still perfect.
The rear bumper is perfect and was re-chromed just a few years ago. Taillight panel is perfect. Factory muffler, resonators and exhaust tips.
When you finish yours, sell it to me!

I wanted to open the hood and take a closer look to see if I could pinpoint the cause or location but of course I couldn't get the hood open.

Otto,
I have been checking the Copart website as I would like to bid on the remnants of your car. Do you know why it has not been put up for auction?

Re: Hagerty Insurance
I have no idea why they haven't auctioned it yet. I just checked it and it still says no date set.
I'd call them and see if you can work around the auction process. Maybe because its such an old car there aren't many buyers for such a vehicle? Maybe they auction all the old oddball cars in a special auction?

Re: Hagerty Insurance
Well, a guy who smashed up his Toronado bought my car at auction . He'll be using the front end and both fenders. Hereit is on Facebook Toronado page. I'm glad it won't be scrapped.
