Hello everyone
As promised, I want to show you some pictures of my 1973 Toronado during the oil pan gasket replacement.
For this work you would have to take out the whole engine. During this work, my mechanic renewed, lubricated or treated with rust converter various other things. After 50 years, the seals of the oil pan were as hard as a stone and would have to be removed with a lye .
During this work he found 2 loose screws on the drive shaft . It's a miracle they didn't fall out. At the same time he also had to replace the servo pump because it was no longer tight. In parallel with these works, he has set both windows correctly. It was very difficult to close the door and it was also difficult to close the windows properly. We had all door, window and trunk seals changed last year .
Now let you enjoy the photos. For questions, just let me know.
It's all dry now. No more oil or other liquid loss. The work has paid off.
Whenever I try to upload a picture I get this message. The photos are about 1.5mb in size.
What can I do?

Do you or your mechanic changed the old timing chain into a new and cleaned the oil pump? If the timing chain set was never changed before it is more than possible that it is worn out and lengthened.

oil pump was renewed, timing chain I don't know. But the mechanic seen that something has always been done with this car and everything that has been done, has been done well, he says.

Re: Promised engine out, engine in, pictures
With engine out a lot of things can be done that are much easier than when the engine is in the car.
Clean and paint the engine and even the engine bay if necessary. If the timing chain is still the nylon tooth style, replace it with the all steel one.
