I could not get the ac compressor to loosen up when I replaced all 3 belts yesterday.
I ended up cutting off the old ac belt, and to replace it I stretched the new one on as best I could, touched the starter, and it hopped into place. Its great to get lucky now n then.
What did I forget? the PS pump and alt both were simple and without a struggle, but that AC belt gave me a fit.

Re: AC belt
Mine must just be 'set in its ways' after a few decades of sitting. I've been replacing v belts for twenty years, and never had one as stubborn as that darn AC belt. I'm glad the starter bump trick worked.
