Re: Pertronics points conversion kit
i recently installed the pertronix ignitor III
i need the rev limiter, so i went with that kit. its pretty straight forward. swapped out the ignition coil, then i took out the points..installed the adapter plate and finally the module. i did it with the distributor in the car, but pulling the old grommet for the wires and installing the new one was kinda tricky. everything comes with the kit..bolts, grommets etc.
the important thing with the ignitor III (and maybe every other conversion kit from pertronix) is, that you need to disconnect the resistance wire that feeds the + on the coil. you also need to route a new constant 12V fed wire to the coil. i used the big pink IGN wire under the dash. would be helpful to have a wire diagram at hand
used the factory style dist cap

This site might be helpful, although they don't have the specific diagram for our cars. It may point you in the right direction or you may find it useful for other cars you own. They have shop manuals, service manuals, brochures, etc. online for free for thousands of antique cars.

Probably one of the best modifications you could make, I did this about 10 years ago and the engine hasn't missed a beat since.
