A friend just told me that the '67 /'68 rotors are not available. I don't know why it came up on the Advance Auto Parts website as available. There was no picture, however.

He's still using his nearly worn out rotors and just pushes in the pistons and installs new pads.

Maybe you should return the car to drum brakes! The drums are only $88 brand new.

Yes the rotors are still a problem, but there is something out there that could be made to fit.. I am sure

Some more brake work. The calipers cleaned quite well except one bore where a piece of the wall close to the seal is missing. Might still work but isn't that nice at all

Your car is currently equipped with front drums, right? Did you figure out a solution to the rotor availability problem?

You probably already know this but you'll need to buy a set of '67 wheels after you install the discs since the '66 wheels won't fit.

Also, the '66 trim rings will not fit on '67 wheels.

John Dorcey (702-690-8077) has 50 Toronado parts cars. He probably has a set of wheels for you and maybe even the trim rings. He might also be able to help you with rotors.

Las Vegas, Nevada. He works in the late afternoons and evenings at a casino so call him mid day. I got the taillight for my car from him. His cars are all 1966-1970.

Summary of the 1966 Toronado Front Disc Brake swap:
The calipers are rebuilt as are the steering knuckles with new bearings. The new rotors are in place and look like they were made for this application.. Only things missing are the transfer tubes for the 4 piston Kelsey Hayes calipers. If anyone happens to have some OEM ones and could send them to classic tubes they will use them as a pattern and start building the 1967 Toronade Kelsey Hayes Tubes. As you see on the pics it was quite a way from that pile of rust to the rebuilt components..

Now I have to get my hands on some disc brake wheels. I am also thinking about aluminum wheels. I heard the word that a certain year of Mercedes Benz G Wagon wheels fit quite nicely. I would have to check for caliper clearance. I even have two pics of a friends car who mounted them.
