Is the front horizontal shock the same as the rear ones?

Well, pretty much the topic, is the horizontal shock absorber in the front-end the same as the two in the rear? Or is there a different model for that?

I think you referring to the vertical front and rear shocks and they are different the horizontal shock are only used in front of the rear axle. Then I believe there are 2 styles of vertical rear shock on the 66, an (early) and a (late) the later style continued through 70

Naw, I was just looking through my service manual, there's a horizontal shock behind the steering mechanisms according to the book. MOunted right underneath the relay rod, near the PItman arm. Book calls it a "Steering linkage Shock absorber"

No.
But still pretty easy to get. I found mine on eBay. Used on Cadillacs and a few other cars...
